KU Bilya Gulyangarri Preschool

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

KU Bilya Gulyangarri Preschool community recognises that we do not have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of past policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To achieve a just and equitable place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we aim to listen and learn the truth about our nation’s histories and hear what Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples believe are the best ways forward for Australia to achieve reconciliation.

Our reconciliation journey will be developed on respect and support for Australia’s First Nations People, as we build relationships and collaborative efforts toward self-determination and equal and equitable opportunities for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We hope our conversations with children, will open their minds to other worldviews and that we create a truthful learning space of acceptance and understanding of the ways to redress past injustices and ensure the future is a better place.
