Pearsall Child Care Centre's vision for reconciliation starts with our acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Lands across Australia. We believe that reconciliation starts to take place when we embark on a learning journey together as a community - families, children and educators in respectful collaboration with First Nations peoples. By learning together, we can create awareness and build on our current knowledge, understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories and including this in our programs and practices. When this knowledge is shared we can challenge our ways of thinking, rejecting racism and challenging unethical practices. This in turn will support practical reconciliation to build positive futures for the children in our care, their families and the wider community.
