Marchant Park Kindergarten

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Marchant Park Kindergarten we value and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our kindy sits, the Turrbal People and actively promote reconciliation with Australia’s First Nations peoples.

As educators we have an important role to play in the reconciliation process. We are committed to continual learning and ongoing professional development to build and extend on our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contributions.

Whilst children are in our care, they gain knowledge, understanding, respect and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.  By providing opportunities to learn about our history; through exploring concepts of fairness and equality and by modelling behaviours we can provide a foundation of knowledge that our children can take with them and build upon as they transition through school.
