Helen Jessen Early Learning Centre

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Reconciliation means acknowledging Aboriginal people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land that our service is situated on. It means prioritising and embedding respect and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogy in curriculum. This includes providing children with the tools to embrace differences and diversity and a commitment to learning about true Australian histories and cultures.  Building relationships within the community and acknowledging an all-inclusive culture, are steps to our journey of reconciliation. We aim to connect children to our environment and maintaining a pedagogy of sustainability and connectedness to caring for the Land.
