VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Trinity Preschool’s Vision for Reconciliation

Trinity Preschool acknowledges and values the deep connection and custodianship Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have over Lands across Australia. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Nations peoples and value their cultures and heritage. We extend our respect to Elders past, present and those emerging whose wisdom and connection to ancient and continuing knowledge must be preserved.

Our vision is for a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives are valued and respected within our community; where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children have a deep sense of self and belonging in our educational environments; where all children enjoy equal and equitable opportunities to flourish and succeed and grow.

Trinity Preschool up-holds children as our future leaders, decision makers and agents for change. It is through our relationships, interactions and intentional teaching moments that all young children are learning a deep respect for and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, heritage and continuing contributions. It is our vision that these seeds of social justice and respect for all, when planted in young children’s lives, may grow to inform our next generation of parents, teachers and policy makers.  From the great Uluru Statement From The Heart:

“When we have power over our destiny our children will flourish. They will walk in two worlds and their culture will be a gift to their country.”
