Sandcastles Early Education Centre Evans Head

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Sandcastles Early Education Centre recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First People of Australia and as the custodians of the land on which our early childhood service is offered. We acknowledge the link we have with the ancient history of Australia through the land from which our early learning environments have been created. We teach children about Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing to connect with traditional kindships so they can form an insight into sustainable ways of living, which can be followed on for future generations.

Sandcastles Early Education Centre recognises that children’s connection to their community is essential to their sense of Identity, we are contributing to an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families feel a sense of belonging and develop strong connections with community and country. Children are central to everything we do; it is important to give children the opportunity to explore and learn about our First Nations People, this can only be achieved through teamwork, communication, educational programs, purposeful experiences and ongoing support.
