VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

“At KU Mayfield Preschool we aim to provide a program that embraces the needs of all children and provokes us all to consider issues of social justice, equity and inclusion”. KU Mayfield Preschool Philosophy, 2016

Our vision for reconciliation is to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel welcome, as we create a community that values the opportunity to learn from knowledge holders. As always, we feel this begins with educators leading the way with learning and forming relationships.

As a team we want to ensure that the children gain an appreciation and sense of respect for our First Peoples’ histories, cultures and rights.

“Thought is powerful. From a thought you can create a project. From a project it can become a community. It will bring all people together, regardless of colour, race, creed or denomination.” Uncle Bill Smith, 2018. This aligns with our intentions of living and working in unity, with all peoples.
