KU - Heathcote Preschool

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

KU Heathcote Preschool acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Country on which our staff and families come together to learn, work and play. We pay our respect the Aboriginal Elders and Ancestors of the Dharawal Nation for allowing us to share this Land.

Our vision for reconciliation is to increase an understanding within our centre, about the histories and cultures of the First Nations people of Australia, as we celebrate their resilience and begin making connections and building relationships with our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

We aim to provide a culturally safe environment where children, families and educators and the wider community demonstrate a genuine commitment towards respecting and supporting the development and self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe that this will facilitate our journey of reconciliation. As we develop relationships, we will seek advice and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in this area.
