The vision for all educators at KU Sutherland Preschool is to critically reflect on and honestly identify our current understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, traditions, teachings and protocols, as we begin developing and extending on local relationships.
We believe it is our role to develop sustainable, local connections and be confident and respectful with the knowledge and information we have permission to share with children, families and community members connected with our service.
We aim to create a culturally safe environment by reaching out and listening to Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community and becoming involved in community events that support and develop our understanding.
