Burwood Montessori Academy

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for Burwood Montessori Academy is to enhance, inform and to further educate all educators, families and children within the centre.

We would like educators to investigate ways to implement the varied culture in all aspects of their day and further investigate ways they could extend on children’s interest . We value diversity, honour and rejoice differences to build understanding and positive attitudes towards all walks of life including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. For these reasons, we hope to further extend and plan experiences that develop children, families and educators’ perspectives and encourage them to participate whenever possible.

Through our ongoing commitment as a service and as an organisation, we aim to achieve continuity while working closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This will help us to not only shape our practices, but also ensure we continue to endeavour towards ensuring Australia’s oldest continuing living culture is valued and embraced every day.
