VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

As educators we recognise that we have limited knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples, histories and cultures and we believe it is our responsibility to actively work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to develop safe and respectful ways of sharing our learning.

As educators we make a commitment to building respectful relationships, extending our knowledge and sourcing resources that are authentic and appropriately honouring the traditional and contemporary lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We commit to extending our own learning and thinking, enabling us to undertake a sensitive and respectful approach when we are ready to share what we have learned.

Our aim is to meaningflully introduce Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the Curriculum to support children's learning and understanding of the Land that the Centre is on by promoting the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples' histories and cultures whilst being sensitive, respectful and not tokenistic.
