KU Avalon Preschool

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At KU Avalon Preschool, we believe in equality and equity for all children, including the provision of meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait children to achieve their full potential.

Our vision for reconciliation is to establish and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our local and wider community, as we continue to increase our own knowledge and the knowledge and understanding of the children in our care, of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures of Australia.

We acknowledge and respect the strengths and resilience shown by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in the face of discrimination. We respect and celebrate their cultures and the contributions they have made, and continue to make in shaping a shared sense of national unity and identity.
