KU Killara Park Preschool

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation at KU Killara Park Preschool is to develop an increased awareness, understanding and empathy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and the injustices experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to this day and in the past, as a result of colonisation.

We aim to demonstrate our understandings by responding with respect and learning about the rich and diverse histories and cultural ways of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Through our curriculum planning we aim to educate others towards a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and our local Aboriginal Communities both, the Cammeragal and Garigal peoples from this Northern Region of Sydney.

We aim to reflect on our understandings of the unique cultures and perspectives of the local people and the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land and respectfully provide planned and spontaneous learning experiences, practices and actions that become embedded in our curriculum and centre’s learning environment.
