We at Murray Bridge High School recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Nations Peoples and acknowledge the ongoing impact of past injustices.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ancestors have walked this Country for over 80,000 years and we acknowledge their special and unique place in our nation’s identity. We acknowledge the deep connection of the Ngarrindjeri peoples to the land, sky, water, animals and plants, and the importance of the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are built upon respect, trust, equity, and free from racism. We will celebrate and embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ culture and histories by respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum, using the wisdom of the past, underpinned by genuine and meaningful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
