At Shepherds Park our vision for reconciliation is to build meaningful relationships with Australia's First Nations people to continue our learning about their cultures, histories and perspectives. Hearing and understanding the challenges that they have faced through the impacts of colonisation and admiring their courage and resilience through this. Through this meaningful engagement we will be providing opportunities to listen, understand, to learn, and to create space for forward momentum towards reconciliation. We acknowledge the past injustices and ongoing inequalities experienced by First Nations people and commit to working together to achieve a more equal, equitable and respectful future, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are respected. We are inspired to improve our ways of communicating and strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. At Shepherds Park, it is our aim to provide a place that is culturally safe where we are proud of our community.
