Palmwoods Kids Club

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Palmwoods Kids Club believes that reconciliation is the process of restoring and building friendships and relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians. Our vision is that we can restore these relationships through recognition and sharing the histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, especially the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people, the Traditional Custodians of where our centre resides. Our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) community believes that a reconciled Australia is acknowledging and respecting Australia's history of our First Nation's people, so that we can create a harmonious Australia. Our service is committed to developing ways to genuinely promote reconciliation so that the learning for the students is at a deeper intercultural understanding that can be transferred to other areas in their life. We have the ability to positively influence more than 100 children and their families and to do this most effectively we will engage with our wider community as we believe that the best way to reconcile is through sharing and communicating.
