The Gympie Flexi School acknowledges and recognises the cultural values of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, and staff as an integral part of our community. We see reconciliation as an ongoing process that builds relationships, strengthens respect, and builds opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Non-Indigenous members of our Learning Centre and ensure equal and equitable educational outcomes for First Nations peoples. Our community accepts that colonisation has had a profound, continuing impact on Australia’s First Nations Peoples…
In our RAP process, we will take actions to respectfully connect with richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, perspectives, and teachings. We plan to do this through a wide range of mediums and learning strategies to engage the entire community, regardless of learning ability. We will work to form this connection from a national and regional perspective through to local and personal level. We will build on the commitments we have already started and continue to build a school that embraces and values the culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
