Our service is committed to working towards reconciliation in early childhood. For us, this means making curriculum decisions that will help the children in our care learn about and show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories, traditions and beliefs. We continue to grow in our cultural competency and responsiveness, which will see us confidently and meaningfully including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into our practice. We are continuing to make connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the local community. Our intention is for reconciliation to live in the hearts and minds of everyone in our service to ensure that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplse feel valued. We will continue to encourage children, educators and families to gain an understanding of the histories and cultures of the First Nations peoples of the Land on which we live.
