Sunkids Brisbane Technology Park

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Sunkids Brisbane Technology Park recognises and acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Lands across Australia, with unique cultures, languages and spiritual relationships to lands, skies and seas. We recognise the Chepara people of the Eight Mile Plains area, and the Yeropan people and the Yagarabal people as the Traditional Owners of the Land upon which our Centre is built.

Sunkids Brisbane Technology Park acknowledges the profound injustices perpetrated against Australia’s First Peoples since colonisation. As a family owned and operated company, we are strongly committed to fostering equal and equitable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and support the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to be cared for within their own communities and to remain connected to their families, communities and cultures. Sunkids will strive to support the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, their families and communities.

For our Sunkids Brisbane Technology Park Centre, reconciliation means working in a meaningful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities that is shaped and driven by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is a commitment of our Sunkids community to work in genuine collaboration and partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and communities.

Sunkids Brisbane Technology Park's vision for reconciliation echoes the objective of the Family Matters campaign for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people to achieve ‘equitable access to the quality supports and services that all children need to thrive’. We foster the motion of "It takes a village to raise a child" as we aim to work with our Inclusion Support Professionals and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners to ensure our community is respected and supported.

Sunkids will pride themselves to listen to the voices of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, their families and communities, and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff as we strengthen our programs and efforts to achieve this vision.
