The NEST Early Education Centre is dedicated to building and developing an awareness of reconciliation throughout our center, community, and with our regular stakeholders. Through this Reconciliation Action Plan, we will highlight our respect for First Nations peoples and their histories and perspectives will be respectfully embedded through our curriculum, programs, and everyday practice. Our center works to maintain a safe space that is free of racism and where First Nations peoples can feel a sense of belonging.
We will seek to build stronger relationships based upon mutual trust and respect with the Wangerriburra people of the Yugambeh Language Community and will seek to ensure equal and equitable enrolment and participation opportunities for children and their families in our center. Our already strong connection with an Elder will continue as we gain both clarity and knowledge as we continue building relationships within the First Nations community.
The NEST Early Education Centre strives to be an organization that is active in supporting reconciliation during our everyday practice and takes great pride and care to promote reconciliation at every opportunity in the wider community. We are committed to ensuring that all our families, children, the wider community, and key stakeholders have strong knowledge and understanding of the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, and cultures and we will also continue to embrace the stories and history that Australia’s First Peoples have to offer us.
