Nido Early School Kensington Park is committed to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.
Our vision for reconciliation is a workplace culture that embraces both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, and embodies equity, equality, acceptance, and acknowledgement of our shared histories. We respect and value the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across Australia.
As educators we continue to drive progress towards our vision for reconciliation by supporting our community to develop an understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural heritages and continuing contributions in everyday policies, practices, and curriculum decisions. Pedagogical curriculum decisions ensure that learning resources and activities are created respectfully and reflect children's developing knowledge and understandings relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures through intentional teaching, rich educational experiences and conversations, and community involvement within our program
Through this RAP, Nido Early School Kensington Park continues to increase educators knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, by offering training, support, and participation opportunities and by working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community to respectfully draw on unique perspectives.
We work towards a reconciled future where all are acknowledged and respected, and where inclusion is fostered. By engaging children, families, and the wider community, we work collaboratively towards an equal and equitable Australia.
