Little + Co Early Learning is dedicated to reconciliation, evident in our ongoing journey towards fostering connections, and respect, and ensuring fair opportunities. Our vision aligns with professional standards, particularly Focus Area 2.4, which emphasises understanding and respecting First Nations people to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
A cornerstone is applying professional learning to enhance children's education. We respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples' perspectives in our curriculum, ensuring early appreciation for diversity and cultural richness of First Peoples of Australia.
To realise our vision for reconciliation, educators actively listen, learn, and foster partnerships with all service and community members based on mutual respect. Embedding cultural responsiveness into practices creates a culturally safe learning environment.
In the context of our vision, a reconciled Australia harmoniously coexists, recognising and valuing the cultural heritage of First Nations peoples. It envisions a nation where equal and equitable access to opportunities is universal, celebrating the unique contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are woven into the broader Australian identity.
