At Nido Early School Montrose our vision for reconciliation is:
•To develop greater awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures and to respectfully embed that awareness within our practices and inclusive philosophies.
•To share knowledge about reconciliation with the wider community.
•To foster strong relationships with Elders in our community and respectfully include community members’ perspectives and aspirations within our service.
•For children to learn about, and develop an appreciation of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures and to be reflective about their own personal histories, cultures and perspectives.
•For our educators to commit to their own ongoing learning and support the children's developing knowledge by facilitating discussions and learning experiences about reconciliation, and respectfully involving the community within service programs.
