At YMCA the Gap OSHC we provide a culturally safe, caring and educational environment tailored to accommodate the individuality of each and every child attending the service including promoting life-long learning. Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity and strengthens relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non- Indigenous people, for the benefit of all Australians. We work towrds a culture that represents equality, equity and understanding of our shared history. To achieve reconciliation, reflection ill self reflect and deepen our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures to develop an understanding and, appreciation that will be respectfully embedded into our programs within our service at YMCA The Gap. We choose to be an advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, within our area through creating a culturally responsive environment. Educators children and families will work to build a community partnership with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community We at YMCA, the Gap seek to achieve a reconciled future through the work we do in our Reconciliation Action Plan. Reconciliation means to us, that we aim to bring people together.
