VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Toobeah Kindergarten's Vision for Reconciliation is to;

  •  Acknowledge the histories.
  •  Build mutual respect and acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  •  Stop racism in our service by promoting inclusion.
  •  Recognise the First Peoples of Australia. 
  •   Acknowledge the wrongs of the past.
  •  Respectfully embed the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into our service. 
  •  Seek support from our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. 
  •  Believe in equity and equality, bridging the gap and addressing disadvantages for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families that attend our service. 
  •   Build relationships with our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to build trust, better understand cultures and histories, and embed them respectfully into our practices into our service. 
  •  Respectfully invite and encourage local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members to become part of the Toobeah Kindergarten service. 
  •  Move forward by ensuring that educators are trained in cultural competence to ensure the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, histories and cultures are represented in respectfully appropriate ways.
