Quorn Kindergarten is committed to working in cooperation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families as well as future and present Elders. Our hope is for all our young learners to understand the true histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples locally and nationally. This will be achieved through our dedicated programs and curriculum activities, and fostering opportunities for respectfully inviting Aboriginal knowledge keepers to our service. We will ensure we are respectfully includingg any information shared with us into our practices with children and families appropriately. We strive to promote learning for all children that is strategic in meeting individual learning needs and aspirations, including the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities. Educators and families will work together to develop strengthened opportunities and outcomes for learners so that they achieve and reach their desired outcomes Quorn Kindergarten will strive to update site knowledge through engaging with ongoing professional training and development opportunities, and will be strategic in implementing learnt knowledges in our pedagogy and practice. . We are committed to seeking out training from local sources to foster, inquiry and extend and encourage community support. We will actively engage and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to have a voice in designing and participating in learning experiences, our program and curriculum. We will create an environment where families feel welcome and active participants in the children’s learning journeys with us.
