Peak Sports and Learning vision for reconciliation includes learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Dharawal people in our local community. We believe that reconciliation is a very important part of our program. Reconciliation is about respect and developing positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians We think it is important to influence and engage our children through positive role modelling reconciliation and respectfully educating on moving forward as a greater community united and working together to build a better Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples, and all Australians. As a centre we strengthen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures as we commit to working toward a safe, equal and equitable place for all people. We provide a welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pledge to value their knowledge. We aim to do activities every week to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples’ perspectives.
