VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

OAC Maroubra recognises and values the cultures, perspectives, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia, where all Australians embrace Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and share.

OAC is contributing to an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families feel a sense of belonging and are valued for their strong connections with community and Country; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural identities are respected and they are culturally safe in their surroundings; and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are recognised and nurtured as the creators, thinkers and doers of today and tomorrow.

We are committed to building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations and providing respectful, responsive and culturally relevant services.

We are committed to raising awareness of current affairs and issues in the public domain that are of particular significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the process of reconciliation.
