Helping Hands Golden Beach

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, and a national culture that embodies equality and equity, historical acknowledgment of our shared history and elimination of negative race relations.

Helping Hands Golden Beach acknowledges, encompasses, and cherishes the cultural histories, legacies, and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively acknowledged as being the First Nations peoples of Australia; a future where all Australians embrace the Elders past, present and future for the memories, traditions, cultures, wisdom, and knowledge they hold and share; and where emerging leaders in our local communities are supported.

We are committed to contributing to an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators, children and families feel a sense of belonging and strong connections with community and Country; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural identities are respected; where children, families and communities feel culturally safe in their surroundings; and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are recognised and nurtured as the creators, thinkers and doers of today and tomorrow.
