Goodstart Somerton Park acknowledges and recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and aims for strong connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. As educators we embrace equal and equitable learning opportunities, including opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and perspectives to be represented in the design and delivery of learning experiences within our service and our local community and commit to gaining a greater level of understanding about reconciliation, Australia’s histories and the way forward. For our children we aim to organically and respectfully educate them about the cultures, histories and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and ensure all children are provided with the same opportunities.
