VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Carlingford West OOSH (CWOOSH) acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia; where all Australians embrace Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and share; and where emerging leaders in local communities are supported. We are also committed to visibly respecting and acknowledge the unique connections that Aboriginal people have to the Land on which our centre is situated and to building genuine, respectful relationships with all children and families who attend our service.

CWOOSH acknowledges the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in particular to the education of children. We recognise the longstanding presence and continued significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, and would especially like to pay respect and consideration to those that have walked this Land since long before our Centre was established.

CWOOSH will continue to educate children, families, staff and the community about inequities faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples since colonisation, and will foster friendships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to support the continuation of cultures and moving forward together towards reconciliation.
