C&K Taranganba Community Kindergarten

We believe building and maintaining meaningful, ongoing relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the broader Australian community is fundamental to achieving our Kindergarten's purpose to maximise children’s life aspirationsand guide their learning journey. We are committed to building relationships across our service in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and communities to embed reconciliation strategies.

We are committed to fostering and demonstrating respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ cultures and achievements. We seek to build staff knowledge and understanding of the continuing contribution of First Nations Peoples in Australia. We believe it is important for all staff to understand the histories and contexts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australia as a critical first step towards reconciliation for a better reconciled Australia. We seek to contribute to this through understanding histories, learning about cultures and developing resources. Staff will take every opportunity to participate in professional development around reconciliation topics and that builds our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories.

We have in our sights a community that is just, equitable and culturally respectful and believe that through early education we can build a reconciled nation. It is our goal to provide a service that is inclusive for all children - a place where they feel safe, welcome and at home.  The educational program will embed and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories and connections.
