C&K Kelso Community Kindergarten's Vision for reconciliation is to continue to build a culturally responsive kindergarten community, which acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and is inclusive of all First Nations family groups. We promote our commitment to enhance culturally safe learning and teaching environments for our children through our intentional teaching of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values, identities, histories and perspectives in collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations. Our Early Childhood Educators continue to enjoy learning with and alongside our children, families and community. Building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families is in our everyday pedagogies (our professional practice). We continuously engage in a culture of critical reflective practices, professional inquiry and developing our cultural responsiveness. As a community, we endeavour to further our understanding of fairness, the rights and responsibilities of others, and how to respond to racism and prejudice with education, respect and kindness.
