VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation at C&K Eimeo Road Community Kindergarten embraces all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, to ensure that we do our very best to foster equality and equity. We are committed to engaging in reflective practice and making culturally responsive changes to make our community a better place. It is important that all Teachers and Educators  treat all families with respect and welcome Elders and community members into our learning space. We will focus on respectfully embedding families’ diverse cultures and perspectives – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives – into what we do in our daily practice. We aim to provide opportunities to strengthen partnerships and relationships, and aim for all families to feel welcomed and respected in a culturally safe space. Each Teacher and Educator will endeavour to engage in ongoing professional and culturally competence development to increase the broad range of knowledge and understanding that we may hold and may respectfully share. It is also important for us to build mentorships with others in our community such as the local primary schools, high schools and universities to share and progress our journey of inclusive practices with them.
