At Croydon Montessori Academy, our vision for reconciliation is to foster a deeply respectful and inclusive learning environment where the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are meaningfully acknowledged, valued, and celebrated. We are committed to working in partnership with children, families, and educators to deepen our understanding of reconciliation. We will continue to meaningfully embed First Nations peoples perspectives into our everyday practices, learning environments, and curriculum in a culturally safe and authentic way.
We believe that education plays a vital role in shaping a more just and equitable future. As such, we will continue to respectfully and intentionally incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, stories, knowledges, and ways of knowing into all aspects of teaching and learning. Through this, we will continue to work in partnerships with families and the community to nurture a generation of children who are compassionate and engaged citizens.
We will continue to value the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives through actively fostering inclusion and embracing opportunities to build trusting relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders, and knowledge holders. We value these relationships as paramount to our reconciliation journey and are committed to listening, learning, and walking alongside First Nations peoples in a spirit of genuine partnership.
By creating thoughtful and ongoing opportunities for learning, reflection, and celebration, we will continue to deepen our collective understanding of the importance of reconciliation. We strive to ensure that every member of our communitychildren, families, and stafffeels empowered to contribute to this journey, fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and unity for current and future generations.
