Little Bee Early Years Learning and Childcare Centre - Airport

Early learning service
November 2021 to November 2022

At Little Bee we understand that our RAP is a formal statement of commitment to promoting reconciliation between the wider Australian Community, Tasmanian Aboriginal Communities and peoples, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from across Australia. Through the creation of our RAP, we aim to demonstrate our forward thinking about reconciliation and our commitment to making a positive change by implementing reconciliation goals and initiatives. To support the future goals of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as being; •    The protection of Land and heritage. •    The continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practises of Tasmanian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and wider Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We will make every effort to support these goals in collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.  We aim to share information with the Little Bee learning community, respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives with a local focus through the learning programs we deliver, and to provide equal and equitable employment opportunities to Tasmanian Aboriginal people in our community. We also strive to continue our own learning journeys by engaging in professional development opportunities to increase understanding, evaluating curriculum resources, and attending local events to show respect and build relationships.  We acknowledge and pay respect to the Elders past, present and future Traditional Custodians of Lutruwita (Tasmania) and pay homage to the Traditional Owners of the Land our centres stand on, the Moomairemener people. Our journey will involve acknowledging the wrongs of the past and the sharing of historical truths within our community in support of Tasmanian Aboriginal peoples to form a treaty.
