VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vison for Djinda Southlake is to help every child connect with their traditions, understand their heritage, and write their own narratives.

Even our littlest knowledge-seekers benefit from cultural immersion, which is why storytelling is a huge part of the Djinda Dreaming curriculum. Where possible, we weave First Nations perspectives throughout the Early Years Learning Framework, strengthened by play-based learning to embed reconciliation in our centre.

We have a continual focus on restoring the relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians. Our educator's aim is to actively build and enhance knowledge and understanding Torres Strait Islander peoples, alongside the children. We will challenge ourselves as we provide personal and practical learning opportunities to develop the staff and children's awareness of the rich cultures, histories, traditions and continuing contributions of our nation's First People.

Our goal is to create ongoing connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, to ensure we implement authentic and respectful learning experiences.
