Our vision for reconciliation begins with our active acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Lands across Australia. We recognise and respect the deep cultural and spiritual connections that continue to nurture these Lands today.
As a professional learning community we are committed to learn alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues, children, families, community and Elders. We will continue to sensitively reflect on the past mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strat Islander peoples since colonisation and the continuing impacts of this today, to gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, perspectives and visions for the future.
We are committed to educating and supporting a new generation of young children to come together as one to understand the histories, cultures and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will achieve this through the delivery of a curriculum rich in teaching and learning through collaboration with local Whadjuk Noongar families, community and Elders to enhance a connection to community and Country for all.
