VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Padbury Education and Child Care Ltd acknowledges and respects First Nations peoples as the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the Lands across Australia on which our early learning community comes together to play and learn. For Padbury Education and Child Care, reconciliation is about respectfully including First Nations perspectives, cultures and knowledges to strengthen educational opportunities and outcomes as well as to strengthen the relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples.

Our vision for reconciliation at Padbury Education and Child Care Centre is driven by a desire to strengthen our education and relationships and to create a culturally safe environment where our interactions positively engage with and reflect the diverse cultures and identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through this vision we recognise the cultural and spiritual connections that continue to nurture the Lands on which our early learning community connects, with a respect that is as vital today as in any times past. Every child of First Nations descent or otherwise will benefit from this learning.

We will continue to learn alongside the children, openly, honestly and with integrity. Though  respectful engagements with First Nations' peoples, cultures and identities, we will ensure a focus on Whadjuk Noongar cultures and identities as these are connected to the Land in which we live and work.
