Here at Goodstart Early Learning Elizabeth Vale we promote a culturally responsive space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, staff and wider community. We recognise and honour the diverse cultural backgrounds of the First Nations communities and foster an environment where all children and families, both First Nations and non-Indigenous feel respected and safe. We respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, histories and contributions into the curriculum and daily activities. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land, the Kaurna People and provide opportunities for children to engage with and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community members, whom we remunerate for their time and expertise. We continue to develop authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, seeking their guidance and involvement in the service’s curriculum. Goodstart Elizabeth Vale ensures a nurturing and culturally responsive space where all First Nations children, families, educators and the wider community feel a sense of belonging, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone is committed to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
