Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Early Learning Plympton is to continue to be a centre within our community that feels safe and welcoming to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We continue to recognise the unique cultural rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and acknowledge that the Kaurna People are the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our centre is built and we will be guided by the Kaurna People’s knowledge and understandings as we strive to continue to strengthen relationships with our local community.
By embracing the worlds’ oldest continuing living cultures, we build a vibrant living relationship which shows our respect and desire to continue to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and perspectives. This enhances our own understandings on how, together, we create a centre which maintains two-way relationships which are meaningful for all.
Our commitment to form, build and strengthen relationships with the Kaurna community, with respect, equity and honour is ongoing. We help our centre community to gain a deep understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We do this by educating our young children and their families through our everyday learning programmes, centre reflections and building connections with the local community.
