C&K East Street Kindy acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. C&K East Street Kindy hope to see a country that sees Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures valued and recognised as integral in our shared national identity.
Our vision is to acknowledge and understand the true histories and cultures of the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play and learn, on Butchulla Country. We aim to extend knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in ways that are embedded in our everyday program, practice and relationships.
We will continue to help all our children and families to develop a strong sense of identity and pride in their cultures. Through developing awareness, knowledge and mutual respect, we can grow, learn together and build a deeper understanding of our country’s shared history as we continue building respectful relationships between our Kindy and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
