Goodstart Burleigh Waters’ vision for reconciliation is that we as Educators continue to respect and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples and cultures. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people as First Nations Australians and endeavour to understand the challenges faced historically and currently by First Nations Australians. We recognise the diversity in First Nations cultures and have ensured that we educate ourselves and our wider community about the range of difference within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures. We acknowledge the Yugambeh people as the Traditional Owners of the Land which our centre is on. We undertake to continuously show respect to the Yugambeh people by appropriately embedding their perspectives and histories into our educational program and practice. Our vision is that by educating ourselves, we can educate the next generation and their families the importance and significance of the First Nations cultures. Our vision is to extend our knowledge and build on the embedment of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait culture in the rooms.
