Our vision for reconciliation is nurturing a vibrant and connected community, that welcomes all its members and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contributions, histories, and cultures. Reconciliation is about recognition of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their ongoing contributions. At Edens Landing Children’s Centre, we are committed to building mutual, respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and all other Australians. Achieving reconciliation will require raising the awareness and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and changing attitudes that stand in the way of reconciliation. At our Centre we continue to: - Commit to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the curriculum - Support and encourage educational opportunities to consult local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders and Traditional Custodians. - Commit to providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and all children, experiences that acknowledge their history and celebrate their identities.
