At Avenues Cannon Hill we strive to learn respectfully and improve on our knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories.
Through this learning we can respectfully impart and share knowledge with the families who attend our service, the children that hold the future in their hands and the local community with which we share our learning space. At Avenues Cannon Hill we believe an Australia that is reconciled holds the knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and proudly and respectfully facilitate opportunities for First Nations community members to share their knowledge as they choose to.
It is within our vision that the learning we impart to our children and families is something that stays with them for generations as they pass their learning on to their families, friends, and community members.
It is important for all within our service to learn and understand what reconciliation is as we believe that our journey towards reconciliation is one taken with our children, families, and community. We aim to demonstrate this commitment to reconciliation through our daily practices and yearly events.
