We value and respect the teachings and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of both our local area and indeed wider Australia, and therefore would like to reinforce this as one of the key values of our Early Childhood Centre. 

We believe that strong foundations for learning are created through providing a safe, respectful and dynamic environment where children, families, staff and the wider community work together to effectively create a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, competent and part of our "family".  We hope that the development of our reconciliation journey helps to strengthen and reinforce these ideals while creating opportunity for connection and understanding and ultimately, an innate sense of belonging.

Working together as a centre with members of the wider community to create and encourage meaningful discourse and deeper understanding is just the first step in our journey.  We hope that we can truly connect people and have a significant impact on wellbeing of all involved while working towards a future that will "ensure all young Australians will be given the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of histories and cultures, their significance for Australia and the impact they have had, and continue to have, on our world." (ACARA 2010 pg 20)
