Our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's voices, cultures and histories are heard and are actively engaged with. We will respectfully embrace the rich cultures of First Nations people, families and communities as we learn more, to understand more. We envision a future where embedded and authentic reconciliation practices are highlighted to young children so that they are able to value the importance of First Nations peoples’ cultures and how their lives in Australia are meaningfully influenced by them. We want to move forward from Australia's colonial history but also must recognise and accept our shared history in order to move forward, placing an emphasis on building relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
