Reconciliation to the Annie Galvin Early Learning Centre community means working purposefully towards a shared understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, contributions and histories. We continue to work towards our own learning, unlearning and relearning and promote respect and equal and equitable opportunities for First Nations peoples by authentically including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives and pedagogies in the curriculum and wider centre activities. This includes providing opportunities for both educators and children with the tools to understand and value the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and continue to acknowledge Australia's true histories and shared identity. Annie Galvin ELC is building relationships within the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and maintain all-inclusive steps on our journey for reconciliation. We continue to foster opportunities for children to connect to the First Nations community, learn about the environment and maintain a pedagogy of sustainability, connectedness to, and caring about the Land and Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
