The City of Greater Geelong Family Day Care service provides education and care on the Lands of the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation.
We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people as the First Custodians of the lands, skies and waterways where we now live, play and learn.
In the spirit of reconciliation, our vision is to provide a learning environment that promotes equity and equality, integrity, unity and historical acceptance.
We are committed to creating an educational setting and workplace that advocates for and provides a diverse and inclusive environment that is culturally responsive and safe for all children, families, and educators.
We will do this through the acknowledgement of culturally important events and traditions (old and new), engagement with the local Wadawurrung Community, commitment to ongoing and continuous learning, and the learning of Australia's true history through age-appropriate truth telling.
We will be brave in our journey, we will ask questions about the things we don’t understand, we will challenge racism and intolerance. We will continue to work towards a unified Australia for all by ensuring we respectfully embed Australia's First Nation peoples' perspectives. We will support the continuous advocacy for treaty, embedding it in our Being Belonging and Becoming.
