Nido Early School Donvale

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Nido Early School Donvale would like to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both past and present, as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands across Australia where we learn, work and play.

Our vision for reconciliation at Nido Early School Donvale is to be consistently recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across our curriculum and educational setting. We aim to open up a variety of opportunities for children, educators, families and community to respectfully engage with, celebrate and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and continue the journey to reconciliation.

To us at Nido Early School Donvale, reconciliation is about connecting, recognising and celebrating the cultures, histories and the rich heritage and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It is through research and critical reflection, conversation, professional development and learning experiences that we as a centre can come together to fully create an atmosphere which actively represents the importance of reconciliation. Through this we aim to further connect with the First Peoples of the Land and develop respectful relationships by creating meaningful opportunities to celebrate and learn more about the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
